Ivana Ecetová – Tango Nuevo

Ivana Ecetová is a multi-genre singer with a charismatic stage presence and a captivating voice. She studied opera and concert singing at the State Conservatory in Bratislava and at the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava. She is the co-founder and singer of the chamber female ensemble Trio Fatal and the Ivana Ecetová Quartet – Tango Project. As a solo singer, she has also collaborated for several years with the Pressburger Klezmer Band and is also a successful vocal coach.

As a solo artist, since 2012 up to the present, together with her artistic ensemble, she has specialized in the interpretation of Argentine tango – a passionate, nostalgic, and elegant music with a distinctive temperament. In unique arrangements, audiences can primarily hear compositions by the Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla, the author and pioneer of the distinctive Tango Nuevo, as well as works by other composers of this genre. Tango Nuevo is a synthesis of Argentine folklore, classical music, and jazz elements. Each composition is performed in original arrangements, giving every piece a distinctive and tailor-made character.

Ivana performs her songs in their original language—Argentine Spanish—preserving the authenticity of her interpretation. She collaborates with top artists and offers her audiences an unforgettable artistic experience filled with deep emotional expression. She performs both at home and abroad while also dedicating herself to teaching.

Since March 2015, Ivana Ecetová has also been a member of the well-known Bratislava band PREßBURGER KLEZMER BAND, where she performs as a solo singer focusing on Jewish folklore. With the band, she performs both domestically and internationally, appearing on numerous European stages, including in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Latvia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, and Italy.

In November 2017, the band recorded the album Baladen, to which Ivana Ecetová significantly contributed. In October 2019, the band released its first LP titled Baladen, a selection of ballads from the band’s last three CDs. She also participated in the latest CD and LP of the band titled Korene / Roots.

During her time with the chamber female ensemble Trio Fatal, she performed at numerous concerts and events across Slovakia, including venues such as Lindner Hotel Gallery Central Bratislava, the Ball of Eastern Slovaks in Lučenec, Restaurant San Marten Bratislava, Kafe Scherz Bratislava, Café Ďžezva Zvolen, Barmuseum Martin, the Bojnice Music Summer Festival, the Days of the City of Bardejov, Art Café Banská Štiavnica, Music Club Hlava XXII, and at the National Council of the Slovak Republic on Constitution Day.
